DiJones Annual Market Report | Data-Driven Real Estate Reports by Suburb

In a year of market volatility and shifting buyer behaviour, DiJones wanted to give clients something more meaningful than a generic market summary — they wanted suburb-level insight that was actually useful. The brief was to design and produce an Annual Market Report for their growing network of offices and agents, summarising the performance of suburbs across Sydney, the Central Coast, the Southern Highlands, and the Illawarra.

The data came from CoreLogic (now Cotality) and Domain in the form of dense Excel spreadsheets — not exactly ready for public consumption. The challenge was to transform raw, unstructured data into beautiful, easy-to-understand reports at scale, for both print and digital use.

And that was just the beginning.

I led the entire end-to-end creation of the DiJones Annual Market Reports for both FY19–20 and FY20–21, building a complete system that handled data, design, distribution, responses and analytics:

  • Data Analysis & Cleaning
    • Reviewed, cleaned and restructured over 1,500 rows of suburb-level data
    • Created custom CSV files for InDesign Data Merge
  • Template Design in InDesign
    • Built master layout files for Houses and Units
    • Integrated a custom graph font to render migration data visually from Domain
  • Data Merge Automation
    • Merged housing stats, medians, trends, and visual assets into ~1,000+ suburb reports
    • Ensured consistency across suburbs, property types, and regional formats
  • Social Asset Suite
    • Created thousands of location-specific graphics with suburb-level insights
    • Rolled out for use across the DiJones network and local agent marketing
  • Campaign Management and Analytics
    • Designed and managed the online submission forms for report downloads
    • Implemented Google Analytics event tracking to capture user behaviour and form completions
    • Tracked and exported submission data for lead generation, helping DiJones measure report performance and regional engagement

The second year saw the report expand beyond just DiJones’ footprint — covering every suburb across Sydney Metro and surrounding regions, cementing the report as a comprehensive industry reference.

This combination of smart creative, data automation, and campaign tracking helped DiJones turn the Annual Report into a multi-channel brand asset — not just a PDF on a page.

The DiJones Annual Market Report was a large-scale, data-driven creative project spanning suburb-level insights, real estate statistics, and end-to-end digital campaign management.

Over two financial years, I designed and automated the report system using custom-built data pipelines and InDesign workflows — producing more than 1,000 suburb reports and supporting thousands of hyper-local social assets. I also managed form submissions, digital tracking, and Google Analytics events — ensuring the campaign not only looked good, but captured valuable engagement data.

The result? A smart, scalable report experience that positioned DiJones as a leader in local property insights, while delivering real value to both clients and agents.
